Bloggers are always bursting with thoughts to pen down. The Rich Internet Lifestyle doesn’t come easy and some have to literally burn the late night oil to pursue their passions.
Today we have with us Sindhu in our bloggers journey series. She’s a Civil Engineer and an MBA graduate who quit her corporate job, took up a job in a small company and is pursuing her passion of blogging
She says “I may not review every new launch in the market, I may not do haul posts, I may not do outfit posts with branded clothes but I do believe that I will touch all your hearts by simple posts with a fun touch”
Let’s get to know Sindhu – Lifestyle Blogger & Digital Marketing Executive.
Hello I am Sindhu and I blog at www.sindhujp.com . I write about lifestyle, fashion, food, beauty and makeup. Being on my own in 3 cities so far defines a way I live hence I write a lot about lifestyle.
Even though I am not much experimental when it comes to fashion, I believe I have a physique which is suitable for all kind of clothes. Also, I am not a ‘brand oriented’ person. I do lots of street shopping and buy from small outlets yet I pick some unique outfits. In that way I wanna contribute something different on the fashion section.
I love to eat. Being a bachelorette gives lots of opportunity to eat out (if you know what I mean) I do cook my own food but there are lazy days when I order food to be delivered at my doors and days I really wanna check out a new restaurant even if it is in the other part of the city. That is how I started to write about food. From street food to star hotel everything is included in the food section.
I have a thing for makeup and beauty since childhood. Somehow the interest drifted away in the middle but through blogging, I started to explore again. For beauty, I prefer homemade and organic products rather than chemical based products. I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis but have lots of interest to try out new things. I consider makeup as an art and science. Of course there should be a place for it in my blog.
I started blogging in 2014 only. But I was a silent reader of many blogs for more than 3 years. When I resigned my job and was thinking what to do next, I just started blogging one fine day. But it was a perfect start. I did lots of research before that. There were 2 failed attempts as well. But this time I bought my own domain, webhosting, decided on what I am going to blog about and I am happy that the third time is a charm ☺
When I read a blog, it is so wonderful that I can connect with the person who writes it without even meeting them in person. That is what inspired me to start a blog – to connect with more people.
I write about lifestyle, fashion, food, beauty and makeup. So many people whom I don’t even personally know read what I write. That is what I love about blogging.
Blogging style – Simple. I don’t use fancy words and heavy vocabulary. I want my readers to easily go through the posts. Philosophy – Originality. I don’t write random topics. I write about only the things I have experienced.
People who have patience. Many pursue blogging as a full time career. But it takes much hard work and quality content to see results. It is not like you start blogging today and on the 1st of next month, you expect some returns. Unless you have a patience and passion for blogging, I would say don’t consider blogging as full time career.
Uniqueness, quality content and originality are the main aspects any newbie bloggers should work upon.
I would say blogging world is already a rat race. I see so much of negativity and hater in the current blogosphere.
There are many. Naming a few won’t do justice at all. I learn something new from every successful blogger. They are my favorites because they are the ones who inspired me to start a blog and most of them do blogging full time which means they believed in hard work and nothing else.
When I have so much to write and so little time. There will be so many thoughts buzzing inside my brain but no enough time to write the same. I wish there is a technology to convert all the thoughts in to writing instantly.
I would say blogging as one of my professions. I do have a regular 9-5 kind of job but blogging is definitely not just a hobby.
I work as a digital marketing executive in a company. I get less free time during weekdays because I travel for my work, cook, do household chores etc. During weekends when I am not working on my blog, I hangout with friends, watch movies and TV series and do other usual stuffs.
I make sure I post at least 3 times a week. Sometimes I may not be able to post frequently. There are times I used to post even 2 times a day. So currently I am not satisfied with the frequency of my blog updates.
Right now is the most challenging moment in my blogging journey. It has been a year since I started blogging. I am getting good recognition among readers as well as various brands. I am attending many events. But I am not able to find enough time for regular blogging. It is pain to see that many interesting topics I wanted to write remain untouched. Hope I can mange things soon.
Recognition is one important thing happened post-blogging. I feel like sindhujp means something now. Major change in the way I think as in even if I buy a simple tee shirt from an online store, I would start to think ‘Why don’t I write about this online store’ I am trying to change every possible situation in to a blog post ☺ Drastic increase in the number of friends. Bloggers turned friends is what I call them. I have met a plenty of blogger friends and it is amazing how we just hit it off in the first meet itself. These are the major changes in my life post-blogging.
I created my blog myself
I make sure to have proper SEO for each of my posts. I do share my blog links in Facebook and Instagram where I have good number of followers. Other than these posting quality and unique content to grab the attention of my readers are the promotion strategies I follow.
A new reader may land in my blog mainly through Google search and SEO makes that to happen. To change the new reader in to a regular visitor of my blog, I make sure I have interesting content to read in my blog. I often do blog collaborations with other bloggers so that the readers of the other blogger know about my blog.
To retain the existing reader base, I make sure that I blog regularly. If they request something like to do a post on a particular topic or about a product or a makeup technique, I make sure that I do it for them.
Dear bloggers around the world, for a few of you blogging is just a hobby, for a few it is passion and for a few it is business. Whatever it is, let’s stop spreading negativity. Let’s not show hater to each other. Yes it is getting competitive. But until you have quality content to write, nobody can steal the readers of your blog. Let’s be helpful and friendly to each other. Let’s make this blogging world a good place to stay.
The greatest satisfaction of being a blogger is getting recognition and appreciation for the hard work I invest for my blog. There are times many unknown people mailed/messaged me asking some beauty tips or just say how much they love to ready my blog. People request me to blog everyday. There are times people asked me technical doubts regarding blogging and I clear the doubts immediately because I don’t want them to go through all the difficulties I had been through.
Dear Readers, Thanks for patiently reading the interview throughout the end. All I wanted to say is, blogging may look like a simple thing to do from outside. But trust me, it is not. From deciding to which platform to use for blogging to adding watermark to the photos we take, we have to put in a lot of effort.
