Businesses, including the pharmaceutical companies, wish to benefit from every possible opportunity, every tool available that can provide them with an increment in their sales. Customer experience, product/service quality, competitive pricing, everything is taken care of to achieve growth in sales.
While one aspect that often gets ignored is the sales experience of the sales executive. Is the sales guy provided with the necessary support, data, material, etc. to execute the sale efficiently? If a business is not focussing on this question, then probably despite having a big sales team or quality products, it is not achieving the desired results.
