We have to agree that some movies just need sequels. Either to complete the story or provide a backstory to the previous movie or simply to give us closure, sequels are always eagerly awaited. Here is a list of sequels to popular movies of previous years, that we’ve all been waiting for
- AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
A sequel to Marvel’s The Avengers (2012) and The Avengers – Age of Ultron (2015), Infinity War is admittedly the most awaited movie of the year. The trailer that was released sometime in late November created a huge buzz and made all the fans impatient. The movie adds a few more heroes to its roster including The Black Panther and the Guardians of the Galaxy. To say we’re excited for the movie is an understatement.

- PACIFIC RIM UPRISING
Following the 2013 hit Pacific Rim, Pacific Rim Uprising is set 10 years after the incidents of its prequel. The threat of alien invasion is still looming large and it’s up to the next generation of fighters, guided by veterans, to save the planet once again. Although the star cast is missing some beloved faces, the trailer looks like the movie is going to make up for it.

- MAZE RUNNER: THE DEATH CURE
The final installment of the Maze Runner Series, The Death Cure promises to provide answers to the characters in the movie and the audience as well. It is one of the most anticipated movies by fans of the book of the same name.

- MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 6
Just when you thought you have to catch up on 5 Mission Impossible movies, they release the 6th one. The 6th edition of the franchise introduces more cast such as Henry Cavill and Vanessa Kirby while retaining most of its previous cast with 55 year old Tom Cruise reprising his role as Ethan Hunt. The movie makers have definitely aroused our curiosity.

- DEADPOOL 2
Nearly 2 years after the first movie, Deadpool 2 promises the same dark, sexual humour with the same charming cast members. It also introduces a few more mutants to the family making it an interesting movie to look out for.

- FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD
This is good news for all the Harry Potter fans out there who have been waiting for about 2 years for the sequel, though they have to wait for 10 more months. The sequel follows Newt Scamander and beloved Dumbledore on their journey to take down a dark wizard. Another highly anticipated movie of the year
