You can not go wrong with picking a dog movie to watch. No matter which movie you choose, it will always leave you with a smile on your face and an incomparable warmth in your heart. Here is a list of movies every dog lover needs to watch. You don’t even need to own a pooch, but if you do, chances are your dog will cuddle up with you as you immerse yourself in 120 minutes of happiness.

1. A Dog’s Purpose (2017)

This is the latest movie which falls under the category of dog movies, and it is packed with laughter, happiness, a little bit of sorrow, but overall, makes for a great watch to beat the Monday blues. Bailey, a Golden Retriever, discovers the true meaning of his life as he is reincarnated four times over the course of four decades. Each reincarnation is a different breed of dog, with different personalities, and different problems. A Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, a St. Bernard-Australian Shepherd mix, and a Corgi – the movie leaves you moved and spellbound.

2. Air Bud (1997)

Once again, a movie starring a beautiful Golden Retriever. The movie follows the story of a lonely boy who befriends a stray dog, with a natural penchant for basketball. The boy and his pooch experience life’s ups and downs together, and the movie showcases the strong bond between man and dog.

3. Marley & Me (2008)

This one is a real tear-jerker. A happily married couple’s life changes drastically after they bring home a Labrador named Marley. His antics teach the couple important life lessons, the meaning of companionship, all through Marley’s disastrous phase of eating the couch to never leaving his family’s side.

4. Hachi: A Dog’s Tale (2009)

This movie can easily be awarded the title of world’s saddest film because this film leaves you with a heavy heart, and you will want to give your dog a kiss and a big hug. The movie redefines loyalty, as it follows the story of a professor and his dog Hachi, whose statue can be found at Shibuya Station, Tokyo. If you are a dog lover and have not seen this movie, you are missing out on a treat (pun unintended).

5.Eight Below (2006)

If you admire Siberian Huskies and adore their howls, this movie is for you. Jerry and his sled dogs are on an expedition in Antarctica when circumstances force Jerry and his team to leave the Huskies behind and return home. The mission is later called off, and Jerry has to find ways to bring his family back home. The movie focuses more on the dogs than humans, which makes it all the more amazing
